What happened to Andy Dick?

Andy Dick appeared as Pepé the stylist in the 1994 episode of The Nanny titled “Maggie the Model.” He also played Zachary Smart, the son of Maxwell Smart and Agent 99, in Fox’s Get Smart adaptation (a position he apparently sought to leave in order to join NewsRadio). In 2001, he co-starred in the NBC summer series Go Fish with Kieran Culkin.

Dick was a regular cast member on many sitcoms for their entire runs, including NewsRadio on NBC (1995-1999), where he played the accident-prone reporter Matthew Brock, and Less than Perfect on ABC, where he played Owen Kronsky.

In 2001, he and his collaborators created The Andy Dick Show, which aired on MTV.

After three seasons, the show was canceled in 2003. In 2004, he starred in The Assistant, a satirical reality television show that aired on MTV. The show spoofs shows like The Apprentice, The Bachelor, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and Survivor.

Dick also appeared as the Emergency Medical Hologram Mark II in the Star Trek: Voyager episode “Message in a Bottle.” He finished last in the eighth season of Celebrity Poker Showdown, trailing Robin Tunney, Christopher Meloni, Macy Gray, and Joy Behar.

Dick arrived on The Real World: Hollywood’s third episode in 2008 to notify the cast members that they would be taking improv courses.
