Oprah Winfrey Foundation

Oprah's Angel Network was launched on September 18, 1997. Oprah's goal was to establish and encourage people around the world to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need. The Vision of the foundation is to inspire individuals to create opportunities that give underprivileged women and children a chance to rise to their potential. It initiates and supports charitable projects and provides grants to not-for-profit organizations around the globe that share in the vision.

Few of Angel Network projects include:

1. Oprah's Angel Network built the Seven Fountains Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The school had it's grand opening in 2007, the school holds more than 1,000 boys and girls and serves as a model to change the conditions for teaching and learning throughout Africa.

2.  In In 2005, Oprah announced that her Angel Network had been fortunate enough to provide more than $1 million worth of school supplies,  uniforms and shoes, to 18,000 underprivileged South African children.

3. As part of the Hurricane Katrina and Rita recovery efforts, the Angel Network has restored nearly 300 homes, rebuilding them. They have rebuild these homes in eight communities across Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama. The areas that were devastatingly affected by the hurricanes.

Oprah's Angel Network has funded over 200 projects and grant proposals. Making the network unstoppable as it has funded projects all over the world  in more than 30 countries. The projects have been implemented in order to improve access to education, give people a life with a better well being. Projects to preserve basic human rights, rebuild communities and restore faith in humans, to give everyone the same opportunities and valued in life.
